Quilted Flowers: 1940s: Albanian & Epirot Recordings from the Balkan Label on Vinyl

Canary Records has, since 2009, produced reissues of early 20th century recordings in languages other than English. We've produced more than a dozen LPs, but in recent years, we've made only digital download albums. Some of them clearly deserve vinyl LP production. Bandcamp's new vinyl production service makes that possible.

This album, presenting a group of incredibly beautiful performances from one of the most obscure and ecstatic byways of early 20th century American immigrant culture, is one that especially deserves life in physical form.

If enough people pay for copies to fund the release in the next 30 days, then 250 copies will be pressed. If fewer than 250 individuals contribute, I'll get the remaining copies, which I'll then sell to a few of my favorite record stores. If more than 250 people contribute - which would be great! - then I'll pay for an additional copies to be pressed so that I can send them to stores. So, the total run is likely to be only about 250-300 total. And if you're a store or distro, contact me, and I'll try to get you a few copies.

The album will be shipped to contributors ca. May 2021 by Bandcamp via their US and UK warehouses. (Their shipping cost is about 6 bucks.)
